PLANS UNVEILED FOR NEW OFFICES AT SOUTHREEF 2

PLANS UNVEILED FOR NEW OFFICES AT SOUTHREEF 2

Southreef Properties II Limited has unveiled plans for new offices to be constructed on the former Sheriffs Lodge site at Canal Street, Nottingham. A planning application was submitted to the Nottingham City Council on Friday, 1 February 2008 for approximately 81,000 sq.ft. of offices.

The development, which will be known as Southreef2, is the second phase to Southreef Properties’ first development, which is currently under construction and comprises 237 apartments together with 54,000 sq.ft. of commercial space.

The application, which was submitted on 1 February 2008, incorporates plans for a fully serviced, environmentally friendly office building suitable for multi-occupancy.

The offices, which will be located around a central atrium from which services to all floors can be accessed, will be complete with a winter garden to provide a source of insulation in the winter and shade during summer. The building, as designed, will also include living ‘sedum’ roofs and will be connected to the district heating system, the heat source supplying the first phase of development.

Work is anticipated to commence in early 2009, subject to planning approval being received in May 2008.

Allied Irish Bank has funded the acquisition and planning for Southreef2 and the retained agents on the scheme are Innes England and Fisher Hargreaves Proctor, the 2006 and 2007 winners of the East Midlands Property Advisor of the Year.
